Hail by Year

The following maps and data reflect hail of 1″ and larger.  Since 1 January 2010, the National Weather Service has quit reporting hail smaller than 1″ because of a consensus opinion that such hail rarely causes significant damage.  The Hail Reporter, therefore, has filtered out the smaller hail from the data from years 2009 and before so as to avoid the reader making comparisons from one year to another.
